Step into the bittersweet world of Judy Garland in End of the Rainbow, a dazzling and deeply moving portrait of one of entertainment’s greatest icons. Starring Broadway sensation and two-time RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon, this stunning new production explores the brilliance, vulnerability and fierce determination of a legend whose voice defined an era.
Set against the glamour of 1960s London, End of the Rainbow takes audiences behind the spotlight to reveal the woman behind the fame — captivating, complicated and unforgettable.
London, 1968. Judy Garland prepares for a series of concerts at the legendary Talk of the Town, determined to reclaim her place in the spotlight. But behind the glittering performances lies a fierce struggle for control, survival and the relentless drive to perform at whatever the cost.
Written by Peter Quilter and directed by Rupert Hands, this acclaimed play combines humour, heartbreak and iconic music in a powerful portrait of a true star.
After a record breaking run at the Trafalgar Studios, Peter Quilter’s End of the Rainbow must end on 21 May prior to a UK tour and US opening at the Guthrie, Minneapolis on 18 January 2012. The production will then transfer to Broadway, further details to be announced shortly.
