Disney's Hercules Goes the Distance as Final West End Extension Is Announced
Published on 9 February 2026
Disney’s Hercules has confirmed a final extension in the West End, alongside the production’s closing date at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The musical will now play its last performance on 5 September 2026, bringing its London run to an end after a successful season in one of the capital’s most iconic venues.
Since opening last summer, Hercules has attracted strong audiences and awards recognition, earning three WhatsOnStage Award nominations, including Best New Musical. The original film was also widely celebrated, winning Best Animation Feature at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards and receiving an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song for the anthem “Go the Distance.”
Who are the Creatives behind Hercules?
Featuring music by Alan Menken, lyrics by David Zippel, and a new book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah, the stage adaptation is based on the beloved 1997 Walt Disney Studios animated film directed by John Musker and Ron Clements. The production is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with co-choreography by Tanisha Scott, blending large-scale spectacle with everything we all loved about the original Disney animation.
Who is in the cast of Hercules?
The current West End cast is led by Luke Brady in the title role, alongside Mae Ann Jorolan as Meg, Trevor Dion Nicholas as Phil, and Stephen Carlile as Hades. The Muses are played by Leslie Beehann, Candace Furbert, Sharlene Hector, Brianna Ogunbawo, and Robyn Rose-Li, with Kamilla Fernandes and Kimmy Edwards serving as standby Muses. Craig Gallivan and Lee Zarrett appear as Bob and Charles.
The final extension gives audiences one last chance to catch the musical before it completes its West End journey. Book your Hercules tickets today.
